Hi, Welcome to the Winterborne wedding blog! For all of you that know me you will know how far out of my comfort zone it is to start blogging and shouting about myself on social media.

However I want to use this space as a monthly slot to keep you all updated with upcoming and current wedding trends, new props we have in stock, inspiration from weddings we have been part of and inspiration that inspires us here at Winterborne HQ!

I wanted to start my first ever blog by talking a little bit more about us and our little business as we get asked a lot how did you get into this where did it all begin? So here it goes… I grew up in Dorchester in Dorset until I moved away to Brighton to study fashion design. Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer and I’m so lucky to have been able to follow that path and have been a designer for New Look for the past 14 years!!! This job has taken me around the world, developing clothes and shopping for inspiration, getting paid to shop…literally a dream come true!

When it came to my own wedding I obviously knew I wanted to get married in Dorset and myself and my husband found the most amazing barn venue very close to my home called Gorwell Farm. It was perfect for us and I instantly started various mood boards and planning on how this incredible venue would be decorated for our day.

Obviously being a designer I had very clear visions on how I wanted it all to look but I just couldn’t find local suppliers that had the stuff I wanted, so my mum and I set about sourcing it all ourselves. She loved heading down to all the local auction houses, charity shops and flea markets and our collection of vintage props started to grow and grow and eventually we had enough to pack the venue full of all the beautiful bits and pieces I wanted.

In particular I had my heart set on using vintage rugs for my aisle and to date this is one of our most popular packages. I still absolutely love to see other couples using them for their own After the wedding of my dreams it seemed criminal to send all of these beautiful items back to auction when I could see a perfect business model right in front of me. If I had wanted this style of wedding day surely others do too and from there Winterborne Hire & Styling was born.
